stop. please.

Just found this which perfectly encapsulates what I'm trying to say here.

There's just too much information.

And too many forms of entertainment.

Sometimes it straight up drives me crazy.

Because I will be doing some work and then get distracted by social media and find a good article to read but I have a niggling work related doubt at the back of my head so I google to get answers and I read the first paragraph of the first article I find. Then a friend messages me and I watch the video she sends and start looking for more information on the video on Twitter where I find a book review for an interesting book in translation which makes me jump to Goodreads to look up other reviews.....

You get where this is going?

I hate this.

The most beautiful moments in life

The most beautiful moments in life (MY TOP THREE)

  • When I discovered I could download free ebooks. It was amazing. It gave me such a tremendous rush to find myself on the threshold of being within reach of a hugeeeeeee library of books. That felt like freedom. That felt like power

  • Falling in love.

  • Financial independence. Not simply earning money, but the joy of spending, saving, wasting my own money as I see fit. Every day is a blessing.

Haikyu!!

Late to the Haikyu!! party but have I ARRIVED!

I'm absolutely in love with this series. Can't wait to read the manga but for now the anime has been giving me so much happiness.

Even though I had this one on my to-read/to-watch list for quite some time, I was somehow not actively doing anything about it. Heaven knows it has been on my Netflix to watch list for months now.

But then I just started watching it one day and I was hooked. Sadly Netflix only has 2 seasons, so I had to watch the rest on Crunchyroll.

I've just started season 4 and I'm torn between wanting to watch it all at once and trying to slow down and cherish each moment. This is the last season, as far as I am aware. (UPDATE- The series is ongoing!!)

So before I forget (in my excitement) - Haikyu!! is a volleyball comedy anime

It's filled with interesting characters, intelligent commentary on life, teamwork and learning, and of course, TONS of volleyball.

I am the least sports inclined person. But this show had me on the edge watching every bit of movement on the court. I loved that the writer, Haruichi Furudate, did not make storyline so obvious. The viewer is always left nibbling their nails and wondering what the game's outcome is going to be.

This is essentially the story of underdogs. There are many great characters. And it's so amazing to watch the growth and backstory of each one. But Shoyo Hinata's absolute love, enthusiasm and passion for the game has MY eyes sparkling. He is such a charming fellow.

Now let me get back to my anime. Will update later if I remember.
