keep struggling!

Imposter syndrome.

That's a hard life when you're faced with this bitter pill.

BUT I've come to the conclusion that if I only take ONE lesson away from this bloody year, it is that even people I think are smart are really just winging it a lot.

Well, even if that's not entirely true, I'm going to choose to believe in that.

This thought just comforts me a lot.

I'm going to try to believe in whatever knowledge I have and whatever skill I have, and PROCEED.

WORLD, HERE I COME!!

Thanks, Emily from 'Emily in Paris', for soothing my anxious soul

EMILY (LILY) LOOKS SO GOOD IN BLACK

So, I just watched 'Emily in Paris'.

I hadn't planned on watching it, especially after reading bits and pieces on social media about how cliche, unrealistic it is. But on Sunday, I decided I needed something playing in the background while I played a game on my phone.

Korean dramas need my full attention because of the subtitles. So I needed something in English and I decided 'Emily in Paris' would do because I wasn't interested in it anyway.

But it turned out much much better than my expectations.

For starters, it gave me so much confidence when it came to my work. I had a hectic, kinda nervewracking two days at work. I just held on to the image of Emily confidently pulling ideas of all sorts out of her head, barging ahead with that 'everything is great or will be' attitude. She was just refusing to get bogged down by her toxic boss and some xenophobic comments from new colleagues. There was an effervescent love for life/joy/confidence in her. And that just gave me so much comfort. It sounds so cliche but I guess that's what happens when you encounter hope/comfort where you least expect it and when you most need it.

And I was also reminded how pretty Lilly Collins is. I had almost forgotten about her.

I spent the whole of yesterday evening looking up sparkly, rhinestone bags because I loved a couple of her bags. Sadly couldn't find any I really liked.

Finally, I also started rooting for Emily to get with Gabriel but I also really like Camille.

LOL.

It is still a very mediocre show. Nothing will change that. But I am really glad I watched it. I liked most of the characters. Majority of the storyline/plot is cliche and only a form of escapism, and acting is mostly so-so.

But if you're looking for a lazy weekend watch then go ahead!
